Grenada and St. Vincent & the Grenadines March 2004.

Michael and I wanted to go somewhere warm, not too touristy, and off the beaten path. Grenada has beautiful beaches, friendly locals, and is known as the Isle of Spice. Their main export is nutmeg. People work long and hard in the nutmeg plants for as little as $10 a day. Even with the low wages, the Grenadians we met were happy, laid-back, and friendlier than any New Yorker we've ever met. We left with great memories and the wish to one day go back.
